"as a vegan i’m offended that people assume i don’t care about the exploited farm workers who pick my produce!!!! i donate to the UFW i’ll have you know!!!!1"

[60 SECOND LONG FART NOISE]

as a consumer of the food industry in the USA and even in other western countries with more theoretically ethical approaches toward food production, you are unwittingly complicit in some aspect of exploitative business practices that are built into the industry as a result of capitalism and you can’t choose to opt out of this reality but instead only limit your participation in it. this extends even beyond the food you eat, as the whole foods franchises and overpriced vegetarian restaurants you open as a result of your “cruelty-free” diet increasingly help gentrify neighborhoods and force poorer residents out while doing nothing to alleviate the food deserts they instead have to live in

We dare you to say we don’t live in a rape culture.

Amazingly, not The Onion:

“[W]e now have young men telling Bloomberg News that they basically view their female peers as rape bombs just waiting to explode and ruin their lives.”

Surrounded by people you think may snap, take an action and ruin your life, you say?

Can’t imagine what that must be like.

nortonism:

The thing about this is that sculptures like these in art history were for the male gaze. Photoshop a phone to it and suddenly she’s seen as vain and conceited. That’s why I’m 100% for selfie culture because apparently men can gawk at women but when we realize how beautiful we are we’re suddenly full of ourselves…
